“The number of work stoppages has doubled since the beginning of the year! The situation is very tense, ”says the communication department of the CPAM of Finistère.
On social networks, many policyholders are expressing their concerns. But, on closer inspection, the problem has existed since January. “I have been waiting for my daily allowances for two and a half months. When we call them, they just tell us to wait, pffff (sic)”, testifies a surfer on a Quimper Facebook group, like dozens of others. A situation that financially weakens many policyholders.
About forty fixed-term contracts recruited
“The 5th wave of the covid-19 epidemic has generated an unprecedented volume of requests for health insurance, with, in particular, an unprecedented level of work stoppages, leading, de facto, to an extension file processing times. This unprecedented level is explained by the numerous sick leaves linked, at the beginning of the year, to contamination by the Omicron variant coupled with the annual peak of sick leaves that we observe each winter, ”explains the CPAM of Finistère.
To respond to this peak in activity, the fund has recruited around forty people on fixed-term contracts. “Fortunately, this situation has been improving since mid-April”, also wishes to specify the Department’s Health Insurance Fund.
