Never before have so many electric vehicles been sold on the old continent, that’s a fact. But it is interesting to see that it is the small city cars, like the Fiat 500e, which are popular in this format. Conversely, Tesla is in the hard with us!
The Fiat 500e dominates Europe, Tesla absent from the top 10!
Is it the Leonardo DiCaprio effect? Maybe. Anyway, the Fiat 500e is the best-selling electric car in Europe. In April 2022, 5,524 Fiat 500e registrations are counted. This represents an increase of +69% compared to April 2021. The Peugeot e-208 is second with 3,730 registrations in one month. Finally, the podium is completed by the Skoda Enyaq iV with 3555 registrations.
Since the beginning of the year, all engines combined, the small Italian is fourth. It is the Peugeot 208 which is first in the sales ranking ahead of the Volkswagen T-Roc and the Dacia Sandero.
For its part, Tesla is the big absentee from this ranking. No model from Elon Musk’s firm is present in the top 10. This means that the best model of the American brand has sold less than 2000 copies in Europe in the month of April. Quite a knockdown, especially when you think back to the efforts made by Tesla to lower its prices here.
