Tesla Superchargers in Casino supermarkets? This year, the American manufacturer will not be satisfied with opening its network to non-Tesla vehicles, it intends to multiply the charging points. And that goes through an agreement with the Géant-Casino group. The terms of the contract provide for the deployment of 31 Superchargers in Casino store car parks. They will be open to all users including those who do not have a Model S or Model 3.
Four charging stations should see the light of day before the end of the year, the first being that of the Casino supermarket in Annecy, starting this summer. The rest of the sites concerned have not yet been revealed, but Tina Schuler, general manager of the Géant-Casino group, explained to the Parisian that ” the chosen sites will be easily accessible from motorway exits and will also allow our customers to do their shopping during loading time “.
Load your car and do your shopping
This could however be rather fast since the current Tesla terminals deliver up to 250 kW. But this is not necessarily the criterion that prompted the retail group to approach the car manufacturer. Its director summarizes the situation, still in the columns of the Parisian : “ Tesla was looking for a partner to strengthen itself on the main holiday routes that connect Northern Europe, the South of France as well as Spain and Italy.. »

This should somewhat reassure the owners of electric vehicles (162,000 additional registrations in 2021) who are struggling to see the multiplication of electric terminals promised by the government last year.
