Samsung announces that it is extending the coverage of its insurance for Care+ smartphones, tablets and connected watches to theft and will allow two repair or replacement requests to be made each year.
Samsung has its own insurance service for its products: smartphones, tablets, watches. The brand announces that it is now extending its offer by now covering theft in addition to accidental damage. Furthermore, it is possible “make up to 2 repair or replacement requests per year“.
You can take out this insurance either when purchasing an insurable product on the Samsung website or within 30 days of your purchase, if you made it in mainland France.
What does Samsung Care+ insurance cover?
This insurance contract makes it possible to cover theaccidental damage“. On its dedicated site, Samsung specifies that this applies to damage to the screen, but also for example to “liquid damage […] affecting smartphone functionality“. Repairs are carried out inSamsung authorized repair centers and only with original parts“.
Now theft is also covered, so if yours is stolen, Samsung can replace it. If before the insurance only covered one claim per year, now it will be two.
You can insure your Galaxy laptop
Samsung continues to expand its insurance by now taking its laptops. It therefore becomes possible to insure a Galaxy laptop, such as the Galaxy Book 2 Pro or its 360 version (the convertible version).
If on mid-range smartphones this insurance is not very interesting, it can be on the side of high-end smartphones, like the S22 or even on Samsung foldables. The latter have a screen that is difficult to replace; if you had to (hopefully not) replace it due to breakage or malfunction (and the warranty has expired), having insurance could cost you less.
