Reaction Dynamics Accelerates Development of Hybrid Launcher Technology

NGen’s $4.8M R&D Project Acquires Velo3D’s First Sapphire 3D Printer in Canada

HAMILTON, Ontario, June 01, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen), the industry-led community behind Canada’s advanced manufacturing projects, announces his most recent project with Reaction Dynamics (RDX), a Quebec manufacturer of orbital launchers. RDX will acquire one of the most advanced 3D printing technologies in the world through a $4.8 million research and development project supported by NGen. This acquisition is also the first domestic implementation of Velo3D’s smart metal additive manufacturing solution – already used by some of the world’s most advanced launcher manufacturers to produce critical engine parts. Reaction Dynamics will leverage Velo3D’s metal additive manufacturing technology to manufacture environmentally friendly, safe and affordable commercial launchers by 2024.

Velo3D is a pioneering metal additive manufacturing technology company for mission-critical parts. Its comprehensive solution, which combines Flow preprint software, Assure quality assurance software and the Sapphire 3D metal printer, has the unique ability to improve the way high-value metal parts are built.
