This scam has been targeting millions of French people for several weeks now. Crooks pretend to be Health Insurance to recover the personal data of the insured and in particular their banking information. The process is quite simple: the beneficiaries receive an SMS supposedly sent by the health organization, inviting them to renew or update their Vitale card using a link.

But to receive it, you have to pay a few euros: the scammers thus recover the credit card numbers of their victims to use them fraudulently.

This “phishing” attempt also concerns an alleged pending refund. The message also asks to fill in a form, always with the aim of sucking up the personal information of the victims. But the scammers go even further: they sometimes call the insured and pretend to be their banker.
