Monkey pox: first case of monkeypox virus in a woman detected in Madrid

This woman is “directly linked to the chain of transmission of relationships between men”, announced the health authorities.

While monkeypox currently mainly affected men, a first case in a woman has been detected in the Madrid region. A contamination confirmed this Thursday by a PCR test announces the press agency Europa press, quoted by Telecincos.

This woman isdirectly linked to the chain of transmission of relationships between men without knowing to what extent. The mode of transmission would therefore not have evolved and would always be linked to sexual relations between men, like the contaminations detected so far.
