Last August, the famous luxury brand, Louis Vuittonhad unveiled a mobile game available on the App Store and the Play Store offering the possibility of winning non-fungible tokens (NFT). A named game Louis: The Game.
Released on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Vuitton, which gave its name to the brand, the adventure features a character called Vivienne. Through different levels, you have to find 200 candles, each allowing you to unlock a postcard telling part of the brand’s history.
Initially, Louis Vuitton offered the possibility of unlock 30 artistic NFTs can be used as a profile picture. Now, two new levels have been added to allow you to earn 10 additional digital creations:

If according to the brand, the game has been downloaded more than 2 million times, we still cannot say that it is a huge success. Indeed, until now, it only garners a rating of 2.2/5 on the Play Store for example.

Luxury brands and the world of NFTs
Apart from this game, this is not the first time that LVMH has offered an experience related to non-fungible tokens. We can cite Dom Perrignon, another property of the LVMH group, which produced a cuvée last fall in partnership with Lady Gaga. This included a limited edition of bottles, delivered with their double NFT.
In general, the luxury sector has understood that NFTs can be an important vertical in their marketing to expand their customer base. We are thinking among others of Gucci, which joined The Sandbox metaverse last February to offer fashion items for avatars.
No doubt we will see more and more such integrations in the future, although the result might not always be there.
All this is not not a practice reserved for luxury. The city of Cannes, for example, recently announced the sale of NFTs representing its monuments in order to promote its cultural heritage.
