Many French people infected with Covid are still suffering from symptoms three months later. It’s the long Covid. Researchers have observed a development of these symptoms one year after infection. We will tell you more.

Fatigue and shortness of breath: the symptoms of long Covid

When the symptoms of Covid lasts for more than 4 weeks, we talk about Covid for a long time. “For some people, the symptoms last for more than 12 weeks and cannot be explained by another illness with no known link to Covid-19”, specifies the health insurance website. Vaccinated or unvaccinated?

People with long Covid are vaccinated or not vaccinated against Covid. However, the results of this study show thatvaccinated people has been less risk of breathing difficulties – the most common effect seen in mild disease – than unvaccinated”.

No difference between men and women

The researchers did not identify a difference in the symptoms of long Covid between men and women. This study is based on alarge panel of nearly two million people tested positive for Covid between 1 March 2020 and 1 October 2021 in Israel.
