It is an unusual affair that has just been brought to light by the Le Havre police (Seine-Maritime). Tuesday, May 10, 2022, two members of an insurance brokerage firm in the city of Océane were arrested.

A dozen complaints

A dozen people filed a complaint for aggravated fraud, between 2016 and 2021. After more than 48 hours in police custody, the principal concerned admitted that he was lying about the agency he represented, going so far as to be pass for the child of the elderly, in order to allow funds to be released more quickly.

A hijacked customer file

There was no direct enrichment but real financial investments, on which the crooks are paid by commission.

In addition, the police found a client file that the boss of this agency had hijacked when he worked for another insurance company a few years ago, and that he still used to canvass these people and try to get them to sign a contract.

The respondents were the subject of a COPJ (summons by a judicial police officer) in February 2023.
