EOS launches Trust EVM to revolutionize the DApp EVM ecosystem

  • The EOS Network Foundation launches Trust EVM.
  • Trust EVM is the new virtual machine that will act as a smart contract on EOS.
  • Trust EVM will have a block time of 0.5 seconds and a TPS of 10,000+.

The EOS Network Foundation (ENF) announced the completion of the work required to integrate the Ethereum virtual machine into the EOS network through a recent press release. launch event on Twitter Spaces. Therefore, it will pave the way for developers to use familiar blockchain tools and code on the network.

Called Trust EVM, the new virtual machine will operate as a smart contract on the EOS protocol. Compared to other EVMs, it will be significantly faster with block times of 0.5 seconds and over 10,000 TPS. Moreover, the runtime is fully compatible with the entire EOS DApp ecosystem.

With its fast block times and low latency, EOS can transform the entire DApp EVM ecosystem. Additionally, micro-transaction-based GameFi apps built using Solidity can thrive on EOS thanks to its extremely high throughput that allows for penny-sized gas charges. Also, with DeFi applications reaping the benefits of ultra-low latency, there will be instances of high-frequency trading for regular EVM smart contracts.

Additionally, EOS Network Foundation Executive Director Yves La Rose spoke in detail about taking over the reins of Block. One and launching Trust EVM:

Since dismissing Block.one and taking over the codebase from EOSIO, ENF has taken a multi-pronged strategic approach to making EOS the best Web3 smart contract platform and the best blockchain ecosystem. Since the beginning of the year, the ENF has created several working groups in many areas of expertise, published four research papers presenting 75 proposals for improving EOS, formed a protocol development coalition with funding by $8 million in his first year and tripled the size of his team.

La Rose adds: “Our first product, the Trust EVM, will pave the way for the next generation of DeFi and GameFi with limitless possibilities by combining the speed, throughput and cost of EOS for Solidity-based applications running on EOS. EVM. Trust EVM will revolutionize the DeFi landscape as it exists today.” ENF is a non-profit organization that coordinates financial and non-financial support to facilitate the growth of the EOS network. It is also the community platform that took over the EOS project from Block.One.
