Conference at the LFM: “Anesthetized. Humanity under the influence of technology”

Lecture by Diego Hidalgo Demeusois at the Lycée Français de Madrid theater on April 5th. He will present his book “Anesthetized. Humanity under the influence of technology”

What price are we paying for our ultra-connected lives? We are still far from understanding the real impact of digital technology on our freedom. The hyperconnection has profoundly changed the way we think, make decisions and interact, but we are still far from understanding the real impact of digital technology on our freedom. At the same time, the increasingly invasive and autonomous nature of technology is reducing the perimeter that we have considered until now to be reserved exclusively for humans.

Are these trends inevitable or are there still ways to regain control? What technology do we want for humanity?

Anesthetized highlights the disturbing mechanisms by which our humanity is modified by technology and offers original keys to thinking about the role of humans in this cohabitation with machines that are supposed to look more and more like them, and even surpass them.
